Introducing Firework Pet Alert

Discover how Firework Pet Alert was created by Jim from Leeds Fireworks to help communities, pet owners and firework users through advance notification and responsible firework use.

A Simple Idea That Grew Into Something Much Bigger

Several years ago, Jim, a year-round firework retailer, had the idea that there should be an easy way for people planning fireworks to let nearby residents know in advance. Through conversations with Mick, our resident IT guy and lots of time listening to customer feedback, that original idea gradually evolved into what is now Firework Pet Alert — a free UK community platform designed to help people notify nearby residents and pet owners before fireworks take place.

Built Around Communication, Not Conflict

Firework Pet Alert isn’t about telling people whether they should or shouldn’t enjoy fireworks.

It’s about encouraging communication, consideration and responsible firework use.

Whether it’s a family celebration, a wedding, New Year’s Eve, a celebration of life or a professional display, a little advance notice can make a big difference.

It allows pet owners time to prepare, helps people with anxiety or PTSD plan ahead, and gives communities a better understanding of when fireworks are expected.

From an Idea to an Independent Community Platform

Our goal has always been to create a trusted service that anyone can use—whether you’re organizing a public display, celebrating a wedding, marking a special occasion or simply enjoying fireworks responsibly in your own garden.

We’re proud to have helped launch what we believe is the UK’s first dedicated community platform focused on advance firework notifications. Firework Pet Alert has been built as an independent community platform for everyone.

How You Can Help

If you’re planning fireworks, please consider taking around a minute to submit a notification through Firework Pet Alert.
